About the Book
Deepak Chopra’s Buddha: A Story Of Enlightenment deals with the inspiring tale of Buddha who shunned all his riches and possessions in order to attain spiritual harmony and understand the truths of the universe. Summary Of The Book Deepak Chopra in Buddha: A Story Of Enlightenment narrates the story of a young man called Siddhartha who was in line to the throne of his father’s kingdom. He had abandoned it all in search for truth. Buddha: A Story Of Enlightenment deals extensively with the journey taken by him to all parts of the world. From an early age on, Siddhartha knew his true calling was not to govern his father’s kingdom. His spiritual journey converted him into a wandering monk. He learnt how to dispel all bodily wants and desires in order to attain spiritual harmony. Enlightenment, thus, was achieved by shunning pain and physical sensations. He was reborn as Buddha, the enlightened. The book emphasizes the need to strengthen will power and exert the mind’s power over the body. In modern times, Buddha continues to be a symbol of spiritual peace and harmony. Through Buddha’s tumultuous journey, the author tries to emphasize the importance of mental peace over material wealth and power.
