Late at night, Shah Jahan was summoned to the tent where his beloved wife Mumtaz lay dying. With tears in her eyes the empress whispered to the emperor to build a monument symbolising the sublime beauty of their love. Mumtaz died while Shah Jahan gazed into her eyes.
This little book traces in words and pictures the story of the romance of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal which culminated into the making of the magnificent Taj Mahal.
