About the Book
This second volume of essays stemming from the 26th Annual Scholars Conference on the Holocaust continues the theme of the first: what implications does the Holocaust have for the upcoming century? The essays included here address two types of questions: those of theology and those of history and memory. The editors believe that while theology did not have much to do with the historical event of the Shoah, theology contributed to the definition of the original victims and therefore theological issues need to be addressed. Concluding essays examine politics and human rights. This volume maintains the high standard of quality scholars have come to expect from the Studies in the Shoah series, edited by Zev Garber of Los Angeles Valley College.
