About the Book
The sustainable technology of the title of this book is that using only materials already available in nature. Islam (civil and resource engineering, Dalhousie University, Canada) and his contributors argue that synthetics such as plastic and nylon are not only unnatural, they are harmful. Many of their arguments are echoed in ecological journals. However, the lack of clear substantiation of their conclusions along with a confusing blend of science and metaphysics make this book difficult to evaluate. The poor copyediting does not help the reader.
