About the Book
Anime, the second title in our 72dpi series, presents formative (web) design in motion. Anime documents the manifold possibilities of interactive animated graphics, not only in the WWW, laying special focus on applications that combine user-related interaction and animation (e.g. interactive information, flash, game animation, web-cartoons, film/photo collage and interfaces).
As a documentary medium, Anime functions both as an indicator as well as a catalyst of creative progression. Starting out from interactive animation as the central theme, Anime strives to document and examine the intersections between animation and interaction, aesthetics and technique, storytelling and dialogue, dramaturgy and production, skills and tools, experiment and usability. The included interactive DVD allows for a presentation of rule-defying works that go far beyond the WWW's given limits.
