The book is a compendium of 100 best contributory articles to the literature in the past century. Nineteen chapters covering all the topics ranging from staging to quality of life in patients. Contemporary leaders (Commentators), in the speciality of head and neck surgery and oncology have written a 'commentary' on each of the selected articles, describing the importance and impact of the article / contribution to the literature and how it helped to make progress. The abstracts of each of the selected articles in this publication are reproduced verbatim, from the original publication followed by the commentary. It distills decades of experience in the surgical management of cases in which the excision of complex lesions is difficult and reconstruction is problematic. The compilation is thus a collaborative effort of dozens of experts in recognising the individuals and their contributions responsible for progress in head and neck cancer.
