About the Book
Corruption in public services is a well known fact to the common people of India and abroad. But , its dimensions as it is today is a matter of speculation only. We have had innumerable Commissions of inquiry on corruption-The Railway Corruption Inquiry Committee under Acharya Kripalani (1953), The Vivian Bose Commission (1962), the Santhanam Committee on Prevention of Corrption (1964), the Wanchoo Committe Report on Black Money (1971) and so on. There are sufficient legal provision in India to combat corruption and to bring the corrupt persons to the legal net. About Author : Dr. Nalini Kanta Dutta (b. 1945) obtained his M.Sc. (Agri.) degree in Agricultural Chemistry in 1971, Ph.D. in Science in 1982, LL.B. in 1984, LL.M. in 1988 and Ph.D. in Law in 1994. He worked in the State Agriculture Department and retired as Additional Director of Agriculture in 2003. Thereafter he joined as Guest Lecturer in the Post Graduate Law Department of Gauhati University. He is also a Research Guide in Law Faculty.
