About the Book
"I threw another sucking cup of coffee against the kitchen wall this morning," Tim said. "If you desire to determine how much of the brown stuff reached the wall, perform the experiment yourself..."
Edna had just died of cancer at the age of sixty, and Tim was having wild hallucinations and dreams about her.
Tim and Edna were cousins, only three minutes apart in age, and their fathers were identical twins. They married another set of twins, and the couples were happy for awhile. But Lora had been raped by her stepfather at the age of fifteen, and Tom, her cousin, knocked the despicable man into the corner of the living room, and just kept pounding him with his fists. He swore to kill Yuk-Jack (Lora's stepfather), if he ever saw the him again.
Tim and Edna suffered the death of their four parents in a horrible train wreck, then came the plane crash. They moved from West Virginia to Chicago and lived in the city for the rest of their lives. Even there, bad things plagued them.
And they never fully recovered from the many horrible events of their lives. They are philosophers, and no person can be a philosopher with a toothache.
