The fourth revised and enlarged edition of the Directory of Libraries in India contains much larger number of addresses of libraries in India. Some chapters have been added exclusively to provide addresses of institutions offering courses on important subjects like Management, Medicine and Nursing, Engineering and Technology, Architecture, Law, Agriculture, Sports, etc. In addition, addresses of premier academic and professional institutions of India’s neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh have also been included so as to give it a wider coverage. It is hoped that the Directory in its present form would be found highly useful by publishers and booksellers in mailing their publicity material. It would also be useful to librarians and all those concerned with educational institutions and organisations for getting information about libraries in India.
