About the Book
The present text is an effort in the step to bring under the reader???s attention all that is needed to know about disaster management. The effort behind the design of the book is to not just enable readers to formulate the ideas behind disaster management, i.e., mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, but also foster an understanding of how the field works within the framework of both national and international agencies. A special area of focus is the case-studies which seek to give a pragmatic understanding of disaster management, along with an assessment of the challenges and risks it presents.
