About the Book
The book “Environmental Pollution and Management of Wastewaters by Microbial Techniques” is comprised of 23 selected articles giving in-depth knowledge of various aspects of the subject. Many articles are of review nature covering the treatment of diverse, industrial wastes like pulp and paper, dairy, petroleum, textile and domestic sewage. A separate review article on microbial aspects of vermicoposting has also been included in the book. The book also incorporates topics on biotechnology in oil recovery, spent wash composting, detoxification of removal from wastewaters, degradation of nitrophenolic compounds and microbial control of environmental pollution. A few chapters specifically deal with biomethanation of organic wastes.
Topics on microbial seed technology, bioassays for determination of metals, shrimp aquaculture, molecular methods of wastewater monitoring and role of actionmyctes in agro-waste management are discussed in length.
