At intervals throughout history, God allows some of his faithful servants a peep into some profound truths for the benefit of mankind. The famous revelation to JOhn on the island of Patmos falls into this category. 'Fortify Yourself' is an account of an inspirational experience and a powerful piece of writing that sweepts the reader up from the outset, and when it finally lets go its grip at the conclusion, the reader is left with a myriad of thoughts and emotions. The chapter entitled 'Journey to Another Place' is hard-hitting, just as the other chapters are uplifting. The reader is left in no doubt as to the consequences of how we live our lives, and what the life after death holds for us accordingly. Yet this is not a book about fear and threat.
