This book discovers why, of all of the identities that God could have chosen to call Himself, that He called Himself Father! He could have been President, Dictator, Chief, General, and so forth. But He chose to identify Himself to us as ...Father. This gives us tremendous insight into His character, and how he desires to relate to us. It also helps us understand how He offers to care and provide for us and how we can learn to depend on Him and our relationship with Him. The book goes on to uncover the specific functions of the Father as He fulfills his role. Most people somehow think God is somewhere off around the North Star and that He is real busy. They don't want to bother Him with the trivial, but would rather save Him for the big stuff in their lives. This is a false view of God.
