About the Author
C.P. Kothandaraman, B.E. (Hons.), M.S., Ph. D., FIE., MISTE, starting as lecturer in the department of Mechanical Engineering of P.S.G. College of Technology in 1958, continued to serve the college as Professor, Head of the Department and Vice Principal till his retirement in 1991.
His subject areas include Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Machinery, Thermal Science and Engineering, Solar Energy and Biogas Applications. Since 1985 till his retirement, he has also guided teaching of CAD/CAM subjects.
His other publications are 'Steam Tables' and ' Refrigeration Tables and Charts'. He has co-authored the titles Heat and Mass Transfer Data Book, Fluid Mechanics and Machinery, Thermodynamics and Thermal Engineering, Solid and Fluid Mechanics and Computer Graphics and Design.
He has also provided guidance in the design of Dust Collectors, Air Heaters, and Heat Exchangers for Tea Processing Industry.
Dr. S. Subramanyan, former Principal of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and former Vice Chancellor of Bharathiar University had his education at PSG College of Technology, Imperial College, London and University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He had been a post doctoral fellow at the University of Kingston and University of Alberta. He has been on the faculty of PSG College of Technology since 1959. He has considerable experience in implementing computerized system and networking of computers and is now a consultant to higher technical education.
