These volumes cover all aspects of all modes of transport. The 5-volume set discusses the evolution and development, as well as future growth prospects and trajectories; global scenario versus local specificities; qualitative and quantitative analysis; policy recommendations and separate section on transport in Northeast India among other things.
Volume I is the executive summary giving a brief overview of different aspects of transport in India, as well as future directions
Volume II (parts 1 & 2) discusses transport policy, its relation to the macroeconomic growth backdrop, transport system governance, regulatory and fiscal issues, Bulk energy transport, and environmental issues
Volume III (parts 1 & 2) discusses 5 aspects of transport – Roads, Railways, Ports & Shipping, Urban Transport, Civil Aviation – and transport in North east India.
