About the Book
Voltage and current in the order of “kilo or mega” range cannot be measured directly to study their performance or to analyse their quality. The use of converters plays a vital role in bringing down the values to the allowable working limit for smooth, safe and easy control and operations. These converters are called instrument transformers. This book discusses the important aspects of Instrument Transformers (current and potential transformers and capacitive voltage transformers with technical data of the electrical systems). The purpose of this book is to serve as a guide to solve the technical problems on Instrument Transformers, which electrical engineers face during their field works. About The Author: Er P.K. Pattanaik is presently working with OPTCL as Deputy, Manager (Elect) in E & MR Division, Burla, Sambalpur, Orissa, and is associated with the protection and control schemes of electical systems. He has 19 years of technical experience in designing, testing and commissioning of protection control and operational schemes, project implementation, co-ordination, operations and maintenance of electrical equipment at various LT/HT/EHT level grid sub-stations. He has also published around 30 technical papers in different national/ international seminars/journals.
