Tony Davison is bored, tired and fed up with life. He has lost his job and his wife and doesn't have much of a future. In despair, he sells his house and most of his belongings and sets off to Paris for a weekend before he decides what to do with the rest of his life. He wants something better, but he doesn't know what and he doesn't know where to look for it. Upon hearing that Tony is planning to leave his hometown, a cruel neighbor says that he's too old and will be back in six months. But Tony doesn't go back, and many adventures befall him when he tries to start a new life in Paris.
