Tarla Dalal was a popular Indian chef and food writer.
Her other books include The Complete Gujarati Cook Book, Punjabi Khana, Know your Flours, and Delicious Diabetic Recipes: Low Calorie Cooking: Total Health Series.
Tarla Dalal was born in 1936. She conducted cooking classes from her house in the late 1960s. Her first published book was The Pleasures of Vegetarian Cooking. She started a range of ready-to-cook meals called Tarla Dalal Mixes. This was eventually bought by International Bestfoods in 2000. In 2007, she started a new series of cookbooks, the Total Health Series. Her books are highly popular and have been translated into many languages, both Indian and international.
