An entomologist researching African termites, scoffs at the curse of an enraged nomad woman, and lives to regret it. She loses her way in the night and finds herself in the macabre Bush Hospital where she gives birth to her first baby. Then, desperate to reach a real hospital, she blunders through the savanna and accidentally crosses an international border, where she is promptly arrested for stealing the baby.
