About the AuthorK K Singh did his B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons, M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Sciences with first division from Agra University, Agra University, Agra and M.Phil and Ph.D in Applied Chemistry from AMU, Aligarh. He availed UGC-JRF during his M.Phil and Ph.D. Studies. He is still pursuing P.O. Diploma in Disaster Management from Indira Gandhi Open University, New Delhi. He qualified GATE-91 examination with an overall percentile score of 91.55. He qualified the National Eligibility Test in Soil Science-Soil Chemistry/Fertiliser and Microbiology in 1995 and NET-1997 in Soil Science-Soil Physics/Soil & Water Conservation organized by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, New Delhi. He joined the Department of Agriculture, Govt. Of Rajasthan in 1993 as Asst. Agricultural Research Officer (Chemistry) in a Gazetted position and is presently working at Project Directorate (Research), Agriculture & Soil Survey, Krishi Bhavan, Bikaner. He has also served as Asst. Professor (RAAS, Leh), Srinagar. He has above 100 publications in the form of research papers, book chapters, aricles. He has also 10 books published to his credit. He is also a recipient of ARIC 'Crop Research Award-1997' for his significant contribution for providing literature in the field of agriculture, 20th Century 'Young Agricultural Scientist National Award', and Best Paper Award' on Fly Ash. He has attended a number of national/international seminars/conferences/workships and presented papers. He was a member of Editorial Board of J. Crop Research from 2001 to 2003. He is Life Member of Indian Science Congress Association. He is also an expert of agricultural programmes broadcast from AIR, Bikaner. Prof. Lotfi Aleya did his M.Sc. In Protistology and Ph.D. In Biology of Micro-organisms from Blaise Pascal Universtiy (France). He joined the National Center for Scientific Research in Besancon (Franche-Comte University, France) as Professor of Biology and Microbiology. He pilots cooperative research projects in France and other countries, engaging private sector companies and public sector companies and public sector companies and public sector research centers associated with his chair. He has several research papers and chapters published to his credit. He is responsible for ten of Ph.D. Students and is peer reviewer of several scientific journals. Vinod Singh is M.A. (Geography), M.Phil, and Ph.D. From Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His field of interest is environmental and socio-economic problems in urban and rural areas. He is UGC-NET in Human Geography and Population Studies. He has been teaching physical and human geography and climatology to undergraduate as well as post-graduate classes. He is presently working as a Senior Lecturer in Geography at Govt. Dungar College, Bikaner. He has executed a UGC-sponsored project in Urban Wastes Management in Bikaner City. He has several chapters published to his credit and also edited two books. He is actively engaged in supervision of M.Phil and Ph.D. Scholars on various aspects of geography of the Thar Desert of India. Ms. Mahadevi Singh did her M.A. (Sociology) from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra and M.A. (English Lit.) from M.D.S. University, Ajmer. She is still pursuing M.Phil in English from Madurai Kamraj University, Madurai. She has a long teaching experience and has 21 publications to her credit in form of articles and book chapters. She has a vast expertise on social and gender issues.
