About the Book
The veterinary council of India (VCI) has followed a common course curriculum for all the related subjects at B.V.Sc. & A.H. level (graduation). In the field of animal nutrition, emphasis has been given on the chemical analysis of feed. Keeping in view the instructions of VCI, an effort has been made to write the laboratory. Manual for such students and for those involved in feed and fodder analysis at post-graduate level or for the laboratory analysis in the field. This write-up presents the exposure on definition of terms, indicators, glassware's and their use, estimations like: moisture, dry matter, protein, either extract, nitrogen free-extract, fibre, ash, minerals like calcium nad phosphorous, energy contens and also the identification of feed and fodder samples. The subject matter is very wide and cannot be included in one manual. Though this effort if small, but carries a significance, because it is useful at the grass root level in any of the institutions, where such type of work is being carried out by youngsters.
