With the advent of Unicode and developments in Information Technology, it is now possible to deliver information in scripts other than English. Libraries contain bibliographic data about books in scripts of various languages. Using Unicode and MARC21 libraries can maintain and offer their multilingual OPAC for display. One of the major issue is cross lingual information retrieval. The book addresses the problem of cross lingual information retrieval using MARC21 and Unicode standards for Indic languages. MARC21 is used for capturing the machine readable bibliographic description where as Unicode is used for character representation in computers. The book provides insight to information system designers to develop cross-lingual information retrieval system for libraries.
