About the Book
This is the fourth in a series of contemporary fictional adventures that educate as they entertain. Each includes history that piques the characters' interest. The Mysterious Jamestown Suitcase includes information on the settlement of Jamestown, plus maps and photographs, discussion questions, related Web sites, a glossary and suggested additional reading material.
Bailey Fish, and her grandmother, Sugar, help welcome the first guests at neighboring Keswick Inn. Storm evacuees, Elmo and Feather Phigg bring with them a mysterious locked, green suitcase that contains a Jamestown mystery. Bailey's friends, Noah and Fred Keswick are determined to secretly learn its contents while the Phiggs take a trip to Jamestown to do research for Elmo's book. Meanwhile the Keswicks take in Sparrow, a foster child in a wheelchair, who refuses to speak. Bailey and Sugar organize a party to make Sparrow laugh or talk. The mystery deepens when another visitor arrives, searching for the suitcase. Nonfiction backmatter includes pictures and information on Jamestown.
