About the Book
The book examines the consequences of the Super Cyclone of 1999 that hit twelve districts in the coast of Orissa with a speed of 260 km. per hour causing unprecedented damage to lives, assets, ecology and environment. After recording the process of relief, rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction in the cyclone-devastated areas, it focuses its particular attention on the coping strategy of dalits and women, to develop the coping strategy both as the immediate intervention and long-term mechanism.
