The present work is meant essentially for the postgraduate students of chemistry. A major portion of the book forms part of the curriculum of students of chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai. Additional material has also been added in order to make the book more comprehensive and also to provide a choice of topics to the teachers, depending upon the specific needs of the students.
