This book analyzes and explores the role of the public in the development of sentencing policy with particular emphasis on the emerging role of sentencing commissions, advisory councils, and panels in a number of English-speaking countries. The book expands and develops the existing literature that looks at public attitudes toward justice and the role that the public or community can play in forming and influencing policy.
