Karen Dewhurst falls in love with Rafferty's TV images in a weekly series but is strongly opposed by Sir Jon and Lady Dewhurst. Being chairperson of the TV studio boardroom, Sir Jon cancels the soap. A trainee artist painter, Karen heads for London and meets Rafferty. They join forces, and after a number of pitfalls, Rafferty sells a screenplay and the couple marry while the sale of the screenplay solidifies their future.
