River Bank erosion and land loss are the serious most common problems in alluvial river. In the vast Gangetic and Brahmaputra delta this phenomenon is more dangerously manifested due to some uncommon natural causes which are less so in other major deltas like Mahanadi and Godavari. The general approach in this book is to explore fairly extensively by drawing on the experiences and empirical findings of various scientists, engineers and academics working on this issue.
