Head and Neck Surgery is part of a comprehensive series entitled Sataloff’s Comprehensive Textbook of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Other volumes in the series are devoted to various specialties within the field, including Otology/Neurotology/Skull Base Surrgery. Rhinology/Allergy and Immunology, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Laryngology and Pediatric Otolaryngology.
Fifty-nine chapters are included in this volume. Anatomy and physiology of the thyroid and parathyroid glands and the salivary glands are discussed in detail, along with head and neck imaging and sentinel node biopsy. Specific disorders covered include non-melanoma skin cancers, melanoma, thyroid cancer, goiter, hyperparathyroidism, salivary gland neoplasm, soft-tissue and bone sarcomas of the head and neck, cancers of the oropharynx and oral cavity, and many more. Separate chapters discuss reconstruction of the oral cavity, hypopharynx and larynx, maxilla and skull base defects, parotidectomy defects, and the scalp, as well as facial transplantation. This volume is a thorough guide geared toward practicing otolaryngologists, otolaryngology residents, and fellow performing head and neck surgery. The text is supplement by hundreds of original illustrations and images along with surgical video clips.
