Officer Damon Darwin of the Houston Police Department is young and new to the police force, so he's surprised to find himself facing a brutal sniper using the nickname Silent Fury, who terrorizes the city of Houston, Texas. This vicious killer informs Darwin of the time, place, and body count every time that he contacts the officer. These body counts have escalated by a factor of five with each killing, and he tells Darwin he won't stop until they reach a total of fifty. And once the count reaches fifty, Silent Fury plans to destroy a maternity ward. He delights in taunting Darwin, informing him that only the officer holds the key to stopping this deadly crime spree. It becomes personal when Silent Fury murders HPD Officer Norman Prescott, Darwin's soonto-be-retired partner, right before Darwin's eyes. Darwin must struggle with his own personal demons while desperately trying to stop the crazed murderer before he kills again.
