Bound by social conventions, Sundri attempts to chart her own destiny, driven by her will to achieve a better life for herself and her family. Entering local politics she manages local politico-administrative affairs while pandering to the men in power. Sundri has to face the possibility of public humiliation, after the struggle she has waged against poverty, social pressure and an unequal power structure, in a world where her entire life has been a slow suicide...

Sudama Panigrahi, a self made person, works in Indian Railways. He writes poems in English and Odia. His first novel, Love Across the Borders was published in 2013. His poems have been published in many national journals.
