My Experiments with Truth : An Autobiography of M.K. Gandhi, was initiated at the insistence of Swami Anand and other close co-workers, in his mother-tongue Gujarati entitled Satyana Prayogo athva Atmakatha. Later on, this influential book was translated into English by Gandhi ji's faithful associate Mahadev Desai and fortunately supervised by Gandhi ji himself. It is in fact, an extra ordinary Narrative of the life of great man with an even greater Soul, in his own words. He says that he was after the truth rooted in devotion to God and attributed the turning points, success and challenges in his life to the will of God. His attempts to get closer to this divine power led him to seek purity through simple living, dietary practices, celibacy and Ahinsa, a life without violence.
