Systematic Pomology is basic course for the post gradute students taught all over India. Though understanidng of the systematic position of the fruit crops are imperative not only for the students but all those who are involved in the development of the horticulture especially Plant breeder, Geneticist, Cytologist, Botanist, Chemist, Entomologist, Plant Pathologist, Taxonomist and Paleo-Botanist. There are large number of books available in the Library related to Botany covering partially various topics of the fruit botany. But no book enabled to satisfy the need of the researcher, post graduate and under graduate students, though it is basic and core course in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research curriculum. Viewing the above fact, this book has been prepared to cater the long felt needs of the undergraduate, post graduate students and researchers and teachers. Effort has been made to make such a book to the level that it might be used as basic book for the needy. The author is continuously teaching the systematic course for the last seven years which inspired the author for the preparation of the manuscript.
