About the Book
The emphasis of the Consultation was on the ethical dimensions of food security and methods of making the Right to Food a basic human right. It was the general view that unless the technology push being witnessed today is matched by an ethical pull, it will not be able to foster a happy, healthy, and equitable world in a socially sustainable manner. "What is called for is a fresh exploration of the connections between our rational faculties and those spiritual qualities of nobility, goodness, and beauty that inspire us to action. There is a great need to widen the increasing dialogue between religious leaders, scientists, development specialists, and interested citizens to facilitate a new paradigm of advancement that draws on the resources of both reason and faith in establishing sustainable material and spiritual prosperity."
