Trafficking in women and children (specially girl children) is one of the cause of concern towards violation of human rights as it transform human being into commodity. The reasons for the increase in trafficking in women are multiple and complex, affecting almost all the countries and all the states in India. The points of origin are often the more deprived and backward places, regions or countries, and the points of destination are often urban conglomerates within or across borders. Tripura is no exception to this and very much affected as a source point.
