Dr Tandon has been Dean and Head, Department of Gastroenterology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He is presently Chairman, Digestive Diseases Foundation. Dr Tandon has published over 225 research papers in national and international journals, authored 13 monographs, and 13 chapters in various textbooks. For his contribution to the development of medical science in India, Dr Tandon was awarded Padma Bhushan in 1986 by the President of India.
