Throughout his distinguished and unconventional career, engineer-turned-molecularbiologist Douglas Axe has been asking the questions that much of the scientific community would rather silence. Douglas Axe is the director of Biologic Institute, part of the Discovery Institute, in Seattle. After undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley and a Caltech PhD, he held postdoctoral and research scientist positions at the University of Cambridge, the Cambridge Medical Research Council Centre, and the Babraham Institute in Cambridge. Axe is frequently invited to address both small scientific meetings and large public conferences in North America and Europe. He lives in Seattle, Washington.
