Shaukat All and Mohamed AH played significant role in the freedom movement at a time when Mahatma Gandhi gave a call to the nation. When the Khilafat issue was taken up during the first global war, the two brothers offered their patriotic services for the motherland. Through their speeches at several fora they impressed upon the people about the mass participation in the movement. And in this regard, they worked with Gandhi for a few years. The themes deal with their early careers, their role in the freedom movement and sufferings in jails, their differences of political opinion with Gandhi and the assessment of their doings thereafter.
