This is our first book in a series entitled' Angularities of Aids Epidemic in India' HIV/AIDS is undeniably the worst epidemic to confront Civilization till date. By the time manuscript of this book went to the press. National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) announced revised estimates for HIV/AIDS patients in India. The figure went up from 3.95 million to 4.58 million by the end of 2002. The epidemic, which has already acquired dimensions of pandemic in some Parts of the world, is gradually becoming a major political, social and economic challenge to India.
